Private Duty/Home Care Aide

About the role

Visiting Angels’ Montgomery office provides compassionate in-home care to seniors and individuals in need across Central Alabama, including Tuskegee, Montgomery, Franklin, Auburn, Shorter, Woodland, and surrounding communities. We seek dedicated caregivers to join our team and deliver meaningful support to families in the region.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with prescribed medication
• Support ambulation and mobility around the home or during outings (e.g., doctor’s appointments, walks)
• Help with personal care and hygiene
• Guide clients through routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients (when able)
• Assist with shopping or accompany clients on shopping trips
• Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete independently
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Report any unusual incidents promptly
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies

Requirements

• Genuine passion for serving others with a caregiver’s heart
• Strong knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Experience with housekeeping and meal preparation tailored to dietary needs
• Commitment to health and safety standards
• Respectful, compassionate, and patient demeanor
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• High ethical standards and reliability
• Physical stamina to assist with mobility and daily activities
• High school diploma or equivalent
