Private Duty Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels’ Montgomery office provides compassionate private-duty caregivers to seniors and adults in need across Central Alabama, including Auburn, Waverly, Opelika, Notasulga, and surrounding communities. We seek dedicated individuals who are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the home or during outings (e.g., doctor’s appointments, walks)
• Support clients with personal care and hygiene needs
• Assist clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients (when able)
• Conduct client shopping or accompany them on shopping trips
• Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete independently
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Report any unusual incidents promptly
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies

Requirements

• Passion to serve others with a true caregiver spirit
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Proficiency in housekeeping and meal preparation with attention to dietary needs
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful, compassionate, and ethical demeanor
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Physical endurance to assist with mobility and personal care
• High school diploma or equivalent
