Private Duty Caregiver

About the role

Visiting Angels’ Lufkin office is seeking compassionate Private Duty Caregivers to provide in-home care for seniors and individuals in need across Deep East Texas, including Livingston, Lufkin, Moscow, Corrigan, Diboll, Groveton, Woodville, and surrounding areas. Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (transferring assistance using Hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, or wheelchairs)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene (bathing assistance and incontinence care)
• Help clients with routine exercises
• Plan and prepare meals with assistance from clients (when able)
• Perform grocery shopping or accompany clients to appointments (e.g., salon, doctor visits)
• Perform light housekeeping duties clients can’t complete on their own
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies

Requirements

• Passion for serving others and a true caregiver mindset
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid
• Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Respectful, compassionate, and ethical demeanor
• Experience with bathing assistance and incontinence care
• Experience transferring seniors using a Hoyer lift or gait belt
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and dementia care
• Two years of professional experience with the elderly in a facility or agency, or a CNA certification

Pay

$11.00–$13.00 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time and part-time positions available
• 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts
