Private Duty Caregiver

POSITION DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Successfully implements the Plan of Care.
• Demonstrates knowledge and utilizes proper infection control techniques when providing direct care.
• Affords assistance with all activities of daily living including, but not limited to: bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, shaving, oral care etc.
• Affords assistance with ostomy and catheter care.
• Affords assistance with pet care as per the plan of care.
• Accompanies clients to appointments or activities outside the home as directed by the supervisor.
• Provides meaningful companionship to include Community Involvement and Socialization based on the activity calendar and the resident’s abilities, interests and cognitive capacity.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Valid HHA certificate, CNA certificate, or LPN license - required
• High school diploma or equivalent - required
• Experience providing hands on care to clients in a caregiver role - required
