Private Duty Caregiver

Homestead Health Care is hiring Private Duty caregivers in the Auburn Hills, MI area. Caregivers provide physical and emotional assistance to elderly clients, forming genuine connections while delivering high‑quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Use transfer assistive devices (e.g., Hoyer lifts, sit‑to‑stand, gait belts, slide board).
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and walking.
• Evaluate changes in the client’s health and confer with other healthcare team members as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of the environment, including light housekeeping.
• Use and clean devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies.
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to a supervisor.
• Develop and implement meaningful life‑enrichment activities.
• Follow schedule, assisting residents with repositioning.
• Transport clients to doctors’ appointments or shopping.
• Complete all required documents and charting.
• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals.
• Provide companionship for the client.
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience passing medications.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation (maximum 25 miles travel).
• Weekend availability.

Pay

Starting at $18.00 per hour with competitive pay rates.

Schedule

• 4 to 12‑hour flexible shifts.
• Current client need: 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm.
• Full‑time and part‑time hours available.
