Private Client Trust and Estates Member

About the role

Miller Johnson, one of Michigan’s fastest growing full-service law firms, is seeking an experienced full-time Private Client Trust and Estates Attorney for our Detroit office.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to assess their financial situations and objectives
• Provide expert guidance on business succession planning, charitable planning, minimizing estate taxes, and protecting assets
• Draft legal documents such as wills and trusts
• Lead and mentor a team of attorneys in our Detroit office
• Help drive growth of Miller Johnson’s Probate and Estate Planning Practice Group in Detroit

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate will bring a substantial book of business and a proven track record of working with ultra-high-net-worth clients.
• Additionally, the candidate should have:
• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Michigan State Bar (ability to waive into the Michigan State Bar)
• Proven expertise in state-specific probate and estate laws
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ongoing legal education
