Private Client Banker
About the Role
Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in KeyBank communities. The Private Client Banker (PCB) focuses on the entire client relationship with a plan-based approach to financial advice, delivering and referring appropriate financial solutions to KeyBank's client base with up to $2M in investable assets. The PCB helps new and existing clients achieve confidence in their financial wellness by assessing their financial needs, gathering and documenting client data, and offering tailored products and services.

Responsibilities
- Embody a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate.
- Listen for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and provide customized recommendations.
- Deliver client solutions through referral of investment and insurance products.
- Consistently attain individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals.
- Build a client referral pipeline via internal and external centers of influence.
- Employ a disciplined approach to prospecting and document calling efforts.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of private client products, services, and competitive offerings.
- Open personal and business accounts (e.g., consumer checking, small business accounts, deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates of deposit).
- Develop strong partnerships with branch teammates and line-of-business partners to deepen client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with operational, risk, security, and audit procedures, including documentation of client interactions.
- Support branch operations, including assisting with client transactions on the Teller line as needed.
- Participate in and occasionally facilitate morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs.
- Work on Saturdays as directed by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience (required); Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
- Experience developing customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources in insurance and investment products (required).
- Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking (required).
- Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objections, and asking fact-finding questions (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport quickly (required).
- Demonstrated experience influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence (required).
- Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products) and digital technology (mobile, apps, web-based browsing) (required).
- Ability to educate clients on digital platforms and capabilities within Key (required).
Licenses and Certifications
- FINRA License S6 (required).
- FINRA License S63 (required).
- FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) (required).
- Life and Health Insurance Licenses upon hire (required).

- Experience evaluating financial wellness and helping clients manage day-to-day finances, save for the future, and mitigate risks.
- Proactive in identifying and developing new client relationships through prospecting and networking.
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth clients and provide personalized service.
- Staying updated with market trends and analyzing conditions to provide informed financial advice.

Physical Demands
- Prolonged standing (5-8 hours per day).

Driving Requirements
Ability to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.
Pay
This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $25.00 - $38.46 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation also includes incentive compensation such as production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
