Private Client Advisor

About the role
The Private Client Advisor focuses on KeyBank’s Mass Affluent client base, leading with financial planning and wellness. The Advisor serves as the primary provider of investment services, delivering solutions to new and existing clients while identifying opportunities to expand relationships. This role involves strong partnerships with Retail Branch Managers, teams, and Centers of Influence.

Responsibilities
- Grow new clients and expand relationships with clients holding more than $50,000 in investable assets, targeting those with $250,000 to $2 million in assets through a consistent sales process and financial planning.
- Host holistic Financial Wellness conversations and complete comprehensive financial plans to uncover household and relationship growth opportunities, including investments and banking referrals.
- Utilize a consultative sales process and assessment tools to provide needs-based financial solutions, offering a range of investment options and collaborating with banking center staff.
- Attain sales production and referral goals by managing a book of business, lead lists, and closing referrals.
- Develop a deep understanding of Key Investment Services solutions to support cross-selling and learn core bank products to generate qualified referrals for Consumer Bank lines of business.
- Actively engage with licensed and non-licensed branch personnel to identify investment referral opportunities from new and existing clients.
- Coordinate investment product delivery within assigned branches, including coaching branch personnel, client management, and service delivery to maximize client needs and sales production.
- Develop a strong Center of Influence strategy leveraging partnerships across the Consumer Bank.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience (required); Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- FINRA Security Industry Essentials (SIE) license (required upon hire).
- FINRA Series 7 license (required upon hire).
- FINRA Series 66 or Series 63 and 65 licenses (required upon hire).
- Resident State Insurance Licenses (Life, Variable, and Accident/Health or Life & Disability) (required).
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification (preferred).
- If licenses are not held at the time of hire, they must be obtained within the timeframe specified in the offer letter; failure to do so may result in termination.
Skills
- Broad knowledge of client and partner needs within the bank-based investment market.
- Demonstrated ability to sell investment products and services with strong sales results.

- Proficiency in standard office equipment and proprietary financial services systems.
Physical Demands
- General office environment: prolonged sitting, frequent communication (in-person and phone), and regular use of a PC/laptop.
- Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of backpacks or computer bags up to 10 lbs.
Travel
- Occasional travel, including overnight stays.
- May require driving to multiple locations in a single day; valid driver’s license required.
Pay
This position offers a base salary of $62,400 annually, with eligibility for commission, short-term incentive compensation, and deferred incentive compensation based on individual and company performance.
