About the role

The Client Partner team is a new function at Carta designed to support the company’s Upmarket and Private Capital growth. Reporting to the Head of Fund Administration Strategy, this role leverages deep technical, industry expertise and relationship skills to own account strategy, solve problems, and improve customer engagement and loyalty. The position requires cross-functional collaboration with Go To Market, Delivery, R&D, and executive teams to ensure positive client and business outcomes.

The Problems You'll Solve

  • Increase win rates by partnering with Go To Market teams during late-stage sales
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Carta and industry best practices to complete operational and technical discovery and solutioning
  • Serve as the client’s trusted advisor and advocate from late-stage sale through onboarding, parallel periods, and eventual go-live
  • Ensure smooth transitions between all team handoffs with a consistent, trusted expert
  • Partner with R&D and Delivery teams to develop strategies and processes for non-standard items via product or operational models
  • Set and align expectations across internal and external stakeholders
  • Project manage the cross-functional conversion process from prior administrator to Carta
  • Create internal governance structures for proper status tracking and escalation channels
  • Understand customer needs and help them maximize value from the Carta platform and services, ensuring strong user engagement
  • Educate clients on the “Carta way” (e.g., product demos, recommended banks)
  • Establish frameworks to manage net-new product feature requests
  • Build deep relationships with external decision-makers to enable them to become Carta advocates

The Team You'll Work With

The Client Partner team is a new function reporting to the Head of Fund Administration Strategy, designed to support Carta’s Upmarket and Private Capital growth. This role is cross-functional, requiring development of deep relationships across all areas of Go To Market, Delivery, R&D, and the executive team to ensure positive client and business outcomes.

About You

  • 8+ years of Private Capital Accounting and Operational experience
  • Experience with AI tools and workflows; familiarity with Claude or similar LLMs is a plus
  • Prior experience working in Private Capital financial services strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to build and manage new customer account relationships
  • Proven ability to assess, establish, and optimize operational and accounting processes and best practices
  • Strong customer relationship skills and demonstrated ability to influence client change and work through difficult conversations
  • Excellent communication, listening, facilitation, and negotiating skills
  • Proactive, action-oriented, detail-oriented self-starter with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and persuasive team player with innovative ideas to inspire customer loyalty and adoption
  • Consistent track record of highly-professional interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working cross-functionally across multiple teams and demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
  • Diplomacy, tact, and poise under pressure when working through customer issues
  • Comfortable operating in areas of uncertainty and educating yourself on areas where you lack depth of knowledge

Salary

Carta’s compensation package includes a market-competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commission plans.

Our minimum cash compensation range for this role is:

  • $167,200.00 – $209,000.00 in Seattle, WA
  • $176,000.00 – $220,000.00 in San Francisco, CA & Santa Clara, CA

Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
