About the role

The Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Emerging Technologies Attorney will serve as a trusted legal advisor to cross-functional business partners, guiding the organization through an evolving landscape of data protection laws, cybersecurity obligations, and emerging technology risks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal subject-matter expertise on privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technology regulations, offering guidance that supports secure, compliant, and ethical technology adoption across the enterprise.
  • Conduct legal risk assessments for emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence—to identify compliance gaps, liability concerns, and governance needs.
  • Provide legal counsel during cybersecurity incidents, including breach notification analysis, investigative guidance, regulatory communications, and post-incident recommendations.
  • Advise on privacy and cybersecurity strategy, partnering with technology, IP, and contract teams to ensure agreements, templates, and compliance programs align with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as a legal advisor to governance groups, including emerging technology steering committees, providing insights that inform responsible AI use, bias mitigation protocols, and other risk-management safeguards.
  • Monitor legislation and policy developments related to privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies, offering timely guidance to internal stakeholders and collaborating with Government Affairs on advocacy efforts.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • 2 years of experience advising on privacy and cybersecurity matters
  • 1 year of experience advising on emerging technologies (including AI)
  • Strong understanding of privacy and cybersecurity laws and enforcement trends
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance
  • Skilled in issue-spotting, risk-mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence decisions at all organizational levels
  • Comfortable supporting sensitive, time-critical matters such as cyber incidents

Preferred Qualifications

  • IAPP certifications (CIPP/US, CIPM, AIGP)
  • Familiarity with NIST Privacy, Cybersecurity, or AI Risk Management Frameworks
  • Experience advising large organizations on data governance, technology risk, or regulatory compliance
