Prison Facilitator - HMP Highpoint

About the role

Join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy levels amongst people in prison. Shannon Trust facilitates peer-led learning programs at HMP Highpoint in collaboration with HMPPS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and development of Shannon Trust's prison-based reading and numeracy program.
• Work closely with the prison and its staff to maximize learning opportunities for people in prison.
• Build relationships and demonstrate personal qualities such as resilience, determination, and a problem-solving approach.

Requirements

• Experience in prison settings.
• Ability to build relationships and personal qualities including resilience, determination, and a problem-solving approach.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of the criminal justice system is welcomed but not required.
• No routine request for criminal conviction details.
• Prison security clearance required.
• The role is fixed-term until 31st March 2028 with potential for permanent status.
