About the role
Join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy levels amongst people in prison. Shannon Trust facilitates peer-led learning programs at HMP Highpoint in collaboration with HMPPS.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and development of Shannon Trust's prison-based reading and numeracy program.
- Work closely with the prison and its staff to maximize learning opportunities for people in prison.
- Build relationships and demonstrate personal qualities such as resilience, determination, and a problem-solving approach.
Requirements
- Experience in prison settings.
- Ability to build relationships and personal qualities including resilience, determination, and a problem-solving approach.
Qualifications
- Lived experience of the criminal justice system is welcomed but not required.
- No routine request for criminal conviction details.
- Prison security clearance required.
- The role is fixed-term until 31st March 2028 with potential for permanent status.
