Prisma Health is seeking an Enterprise Medical Director of Neurology to serve as a system-wide clinical and strategic leader. This senior leader will further Prisma’s dedication to quality patient care, access, innovation, research, integration of their expansive and growing system, and collaboration across Neuroscience’s multi-disciplinary teams and operational partners. Report to and partner with the President of the Neurosciences Institute, Anthony Asher, MD, FAANS, FACS, to advance Prisma's mission.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Provide enterprise leadership in the design and execution of strategic plans for neurology services, ensuring alignment with the mission, vision, and priorities of the Neurosciences Institute and Prisma Health. Partner with the Institute President and administrative leadership to drive program growth, strengthen clinical and operational integration, and expand access to high-quality neurological care.
• Standard of Care Delivery: Lead the development and implementation of a consistent, evidence-based standard of neurological care across all Prisma Health sites. Establish clinical standards aligned with national guidelines, regulatory expectations, and best practices. Champion systemwide clinical integration and care pathways that reduce variation, improve outcomes, and advance the patient experience.
• Patient-Centered Care: Promote a patient-centered model of neurological care by improving access to services, increasing care coordination, optimizing clinical outcomes, and enhancing the patient experience across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings.
• Quality Improvement: Develop, refine, and monitor performance metrics, quality indicators, and outcome measures that evaluate neurology services across the enterprise. Lead quality improvement initiatives, benchmarking efforts, and peer review processes to advance continuous improvement and clinical excellence.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Foster close collaboration among specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, neurocritical care, neuroradiology, rehabilitation, and behavioral health to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care for patients with complex neurological conditions.
• Physician Engagement: Partner with neurologists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members to cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning. Support provider recruitment, retention, mentorship, and leadership development across neurology services.
• Clinical Research and Innovation: Provide enterprise leadership for clinical research and clinical trial activities in neurology, including trial development, research infrastructure, and strategic expansion. Lead efforts to grow Prisma Health’s neurology research portfolio and integrate research into care delivery. Strengthen partnerships with academic institutions, industry collaborators, and research organizations to expand access to innovative therapies and advanced technologies. Promote participation in multicenter trials and enhance the national profile of Prisma Health’s neuroscience research programs.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with physicians, hospital leadership, academic partners, and community providers. Represent neurology services in systemwide initiatives, partnerships, and strategic planning efforts.
• Resource Management: Collaborate with operational and financial leaders to ensure effective and sustainable management of resources, including staffing, provider recruitment, equipment needs, and budget allocation across the neurology enterprise.
• Education and Training: Support and advance education and training for physicians, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers. Strengthen academic partnerships and ensure high-value learning experiences that reinforce clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
• Other Duties as Needed: Evaluate and support the development of new technologies, facilities, and care models that advance neurological care and scientific innovation. Assess external neuroscience programs and adopt novel approaches when advantageous. Partner with affiliated medical specialties to create integrated care paradigms essential for comprehensive neuroscience redesign. Oversee clinical, economic, and scientific performance of digital health tools, medical devices, and diagnostic technologies to ensure continuous improvement and high-value impact.
