Prior Law Enforcement-Court Security Officer, Oklahoma City, OK

About the role

Walden Security is currently recruiting experienced Court Security Officers to provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control: enforce the District's entry and identification system, operate security screening equipment, and check items such as handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc.
• Perform roving patrol: patrol court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders.
• Perform stationary post assignments: stand guard at stationary posts including monitoring closed-circuit television, duress alarm systems, courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms.
• Perform escort duties: provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals when directed.
• Perform garage parking and pedestrian control: direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties as described in post orders and/or standard operating procedures.
• Enforce law and order: enforce federal law while performing assigned duties, including detaining persons attempting unauthorized access or acts that imperil safety and security.
• Prepare reports and records: prepare reports regarding contract performance issues, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts.
• Court attendance: secure unattended courtrooms, inspect courtrooms prior to proceedings, test security devices, and perform other duties concerning court area security.
• Preserve order: provide security presence in the courtroom, enforce federal law and judicial orders, enforce local court rules regarding prohibited items, and protect court proceedings as circumstances dictate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.); all three (3) years must have occurred within the last seven (7) years. The experience must have included general arrest authority.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.
• Valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years.
• Clearance from the Department of Justice.
• Completion of or graduation from a certified Federal, state, county, local, or military law enforcement training academy; able to provide certification as proof.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must meet medical standards as specified by the United States Marshal Service (USMS).
