About the role

The Prior Authorization Specialist role verifies medication-related insurance eligibility, benefits, verification, prior authorization and researches medication denials to ensure payments are processed on a timely basis.

Responsibilities

• Verifies medication-related insurance eligibility, benefits, verification, prior authorization and researches medication denials to ensure payments are processed on a timely basis.

Requirements

• Experience as a medical assistant, pharmacy technician, or prior authorization work in healthcare or related environment required.
• Knowledge of Medical Insurance and concept of referrals/pre-authorizations.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
