About the role
The Willis Knighton Department of Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist to work directly with our Outpatient Infusion Units under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director. The specialist will act as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure timely patient care and compliance with payer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review medication orders to determine if prior authorization is required.
- Verify insurance coverage for prescribed medications.
- Collect necessary clinical information from healthcare providers.
- Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies to obtain approvals.
- Ensure compliance with payer requirements and timely patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (required).
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing (preferred).
- Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office products (preferred).
- Great attention to detail.
Schedule
8‑hour day shifts.
