About the Role
In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Printing Services Specialist 1 operates various digital presses to produce printed collateral supporting multiple ministries. The role involves using imposition software to assemble print projects, maximizing paper usage, minimizing waste, and operating bindery equipment to complete requests.
Responsibilities
- Ensure quality control of printed materials such as forms, brochures, invitations, envelopes, newsletters, booklets, and other collateral.
- Support cost efficiency in paper, toner, and production processes.
- Configure layouts to maximize sheet usage and minimize waste.
- Assemble projects inline to expedite production when reasonable.
- Determine alternative production methods during equipment failure.
- Perform daily calibration of digital presses for accurate color.
- Cross-check job tickets for accuracy before production.
- Operate bindery equipment (e.g., folder, cutter, slitter/scorer/perforator, laminator) as backup support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum of two years technical or vocational training focused on offset and inkjet press operation and bindery operations.
- 3–5 years of experience in the printing industry, with a focus on digital press operation.
- Demonstrated high-level computer skills.
- Mechanical proficiency with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform adjustments.
