Safety and Compliance

Operate printing press equipment while following all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

Perform all job duties in compliance with plant safety standards and quality requirements.

Technical Proficiency

Demonstrate proficiency in Press II, Press III, Press IV, and Press Floater classifications.

Leadership and Training

Serve as a technical resource by training team members and directing daily press activities when the Press Leader is unavailable.

Train team members on best practices for press setup, operation, troubleshooting, and product quality.

Quality Control and Production

Maintain high standards for product quality and ensure customer specifications are consistently achieved.

Clock in and out employees, schedule work assignments, and coordinate break coverage to maintain production efficiency.

Change the direction of the unwind splicing group as required.

Set up cohesive printing units and pumping stations.

Adjust burners and heat settings based on ink and coating coverage requirements.

Control print haze using air gap and doctor blade angle adjustments.

Adjust machine temperatures and web tensions to maintain print repeat accuracy.

Configure Grafikontrol systems according to job specifications.

Set up and operate web guide systems.

Change impression roll sleeves and prepare presses for production.

Thread (web) the press with or without the treater as required.

Perform automatic changeovers and manual registration adjustments.

Register jobs accurately to customer specifications.

Set and level impression rollers, nips, and related press components.

Program automatic ink viscosity controls and ink specifications.

Charge, reject, identify, and flag production rolls accurately.

Perform daily flow checks on the Mahr Meter Mix system.

Additional Duties

Operate forklifts safely when required.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED.

Previous flexographic or printing press operation experience.

The ability to lead, motivate, and provide direction in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Experience using measuring and quality equipment such as: Densitometers, X-Rite color measurement systems, Zahn cups, Scales, Ink measurement and mixing equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Basic computer skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Professionalism when working with coworkers, supervisors, and leadership.

Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional product quality.

Forklift certification is required or the ability to obtain certification.
