About the role

The Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures, and guidelines; report all safety concerns or issues to immediate supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and area by completing daily housekeeping assignments
  • Complete make-ready in accordance with the Job Ticket and Product Specification documents to ensure correct print cylinders, inks, substrates, tooling, and anilox rollers are used
  • Complete all required quality checks related to product specifications, visual, and functional checks, including press-side quality checks
  • Operate press to produce product in accordance with customer specifications while maintaining quality, waste, and press efficiency
  • Maintain consistent quality during the production run, including critical quality checks: copy, color, registration, and ink adhesion; ensure conformance to all other quality checks
  • Complete all related procedures, work instructions, and quality measurements as outlined in the BRC standard
  • Complete press make-readies in an efficient manner
  • Complete all required equipment maintenance duties; clean plate, cylinder, and ink pans, and lubricate press as needed
  • Input all required information into the GlobeTek system for material usage and time in an accurate and prompt manner

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of printing press operator experience and/or training

Physical requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, and using hands to feel, finger, and touch; reaching with arms and hands; talking and hearing
  • Occasional climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
