Our Financial Services client is seeking a Print Production Specialist to join their team for the next 18 months, 40 hours/week. This role is hybrid onsite 4 days a week in Austin, TX. Role SummaryWe are seeking a Print Production Marketing Specialist to manage the planning, execution, and delivery of print and direct mail marketing initiatives. This role partners closely with creative teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to oversee production workflows, budgets, timelines, quality assurance, procurement processes, and promotional campaigns. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of print production, direct mail best practices, vendor management, and creative project execution while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.Top Must Have Skills 2 to 5 years of print production experience within an agency, creative studio, or in-house design team environment. Strong knowledge of direct mail production, postal regulations, file construction, production specifications, and print quality assurance. Experience managing vendors, budgets, procurement processes, and production timelines across multiple projects. Additional Qualifications Experience collaborating with creative directors, designers, studio production teams, and third-party vendors. Familiarity with project management and creative workflow tools such as Workfront, Basecamp, or similar platforms. Working knowledge of procurement and purchasing systems such as PeopleSoft, Ariba, or equivalent platforms. Understanding of Adobe PDF review processes and familiarity with InDesign and Photoshop native file formats. Expertise in developing detailed production specifications and translating creative assets into production-ready instructions. Knowledge of paper stocks, weights, coatings, ink configurations, and print production outcomes. Experience evaluating vendor capabilities, conducting bid analysis, and negotiating production costs. Ability to calculate unit costs, manage change requests, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Understanding of data-driven direct mail programs, variable content workflows, and XML file transfers. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform effectively under pressure. Responsibilities Manage projects using procurement platforms, project management systems, and production tracking tools while maintaining accurate records and reporting. Partner with Creative Directors, Designers, and external vendors to guide projects from concept through final delivery. Develop and execute promotional strategies supporting product launches, seasonal campaigns, and broader brand initiatives. Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging best practices to identify innovative promotional opportunities. Collaborate with vendors to engineer production solutions and provide guidance on file construction, delivery requirements, and manufacturing specifications. Negotiate vendor pricing, assess material quality, and ensure deliverables meet established standards. Manage project budgets and provide stakeholders with recommendations regarding production options and budget considerations. Define project specifications, coordinate schedules, and ensure internal and external teams meet key milestones. Develop and maintain comprehensive production timelines while coordinating deliverables with print and fulfillment vendors. Serve as the owner of production quality assurance, overseeing file construction, image quality, color accuracy, fonts, paper stock, mailing requirements, and fulfillment standards. Evaluate vendor capabilities, conduct competitive bid analysis, and recommend the most appropriate suppliers for each project. Partner with vendors to develop template-based solutions that support personalized and on-demand content generation. Act as the subject matter expert for direct mail production, postal requirements, variable data workflows, and related operational processes. Implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives to increase efficiency and optimize production spend. Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality expectations.In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including financial information.
