About the Role

As a Principal Water Resources Engineer within our Transportation team in Tampa, FL, you will serve as a discipline leader, subject matter expert, and technical resource. Your role will include active participation in discipline quality improvement and assurance activities. Key responsibilities involve:

  • Defining project elements and processes to meet client needs.
  • Participating in and coordinating the preparation of bids and promoting client relationships.
  • Overseeing performance to contracts through shared planning and monitoring of work orders and deliverables with engineering, construction, and other disciplines.
  • Leading projects, including major projects with complex elements and broad scope.
  • Coordinating with project management to execute project plans and directly supervising teams' design and technical delivery.
  • Promoting and maintaining client relationships through all project phases, including presenting technical and design solutions directly to clients.
  • Serving as a firm ambassador to win new work.
  • Recommending new practices or changes in emphasis for professional services.
  • Leading the development and application of company-wide standard operating procedures and technical requirements for projects and discipline deliverables.

This position may also involve managing a small team of direct reports.

Requirements

  • A degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 15 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Proficiency in production software and construction document production.
  • Proven ability to make decisions with significant organizational impact and recommend operational strategies and plans.
  • Recognition as a thought leader in the industry with experience leading multiple disciplines and decision-making on technical matters.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with senior leadership on strategic matters.
  • Ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders.
