About the role

The Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) for Sponsored Products and Brands (SPB) at Amazon Ads is responsible for driving cross-functional alignment, shaping the strategic roadmap, influencing external teams without authority, and building mechanisms that create leverage as the program scales. This role involves owning and operating the vertical intake mechanism, driving cross-org execution, representing the Vertical Program in leadership reviews, defining and scaling program mechanisms, reviewing technical designs, leveraging GenAI technologies, and identifying monetization gaps.

The team seeks a TPM with strong technical depth to drive these initiatives and shape the future of advertising.

Key job responsibilities

  • Evaluate new vertical requests, help partners sharpen their proposals, scope solutions with internal teams, and drive prioritization decisions with leadership.
  • Drive cross-org execution across SPB and partner organizations to deliver vertical monetization goals, coordinating dependencies and resolving blockers.
  • Influence external partner teams without authority to align on shared goals and feeder commitments.
  • Represent the Vertical Program in leadership reviews, authoring narratives that meet the bar for VP-level audiences.
  • Define and scale program mechanisms that create leverage as the program grows.
  • Review technical designs and trade-offs for vertical-specific solutions, balancing near-term partner needs with long-term SPB architecture.
  • Leverage GenAI technologies to automate and improve program operations.
  • Identify monetization gaps across verticals using data and translate insights into prioritized initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience in an online advertising role and familiarity with advertising products and ad serving technologies
  • 8+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience
