Principal Technical Program Manager, Data Center Design Engineering - BIM & AI Technologies

About the role

The AWS Data Center Design Engineering - BIM & AI Technologies team is seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to drive the end-to-end delivery of AI-powered design automation programs for AWS's global data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver ambiguous, very large, and complex programs that span multiple organizations and technology domains
• Identify risks and opportunities in technical strategies, system architectures, and engineering organizational structures
• Influence and advise VP-level leadership across data center engineering organization on technical investment decisions, organizational alignment, and long-term platform strategy
• Establish metrics, dashboards, and regular reporting mechanisms to provide stakeholders and senior leadership clear insight into program health, delivery timelines, and business impact
• Force-multiply across the TPM community - establish frameworks, mechanisms, and best practices that elevate the effectiveness of multiple teams and programs simultaneously
• Drive clarity in highly ambiguous environments where the business strategy, architectural approach, and even the problem definition may not yet exist

Qualifications

• 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• 10+ years of technical product or program management experience
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
• Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
• Experience with AI/ML technologies and their practical applications in domain-specific products
• Experience working with the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry or related domains, including BIM, CAD, 3D geometry, or construction documentation workflows
