Principal Systems Test Engineer (Remote)
This position is remote-based in the United States and requires U.S. citizenship, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. The ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance is required from day one. Some travel to customer sites will be necessary.
About the Role
Solipsys Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Aerospace/RTX, is an industry leader in the development of command-and-control software systems. This role involves serving as a technical leader and test engineer on medium to large engineering development teams to create cutting-edge Command and Control (C2) software products in a dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environment with both commercial and government customers.
Responsibilities
- Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks, including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (V&V), formal testing, and software installation.
- Act as a department systems engineering subject matter expert to solve critical technical problems with innovative solutions and mentor other engineers.
- Design, develop, and test advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies.
- Lead systems or test engineering efforts on software development programs.
Requirements
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Experience as a lead systems or test engineer on a software development program.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with systems such as Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems, Combat/Fire Control Systems, or Shipboard Combat Systems (e.g., Aegis and SSDS Mk II).
- Experience with Systems of Systems Software Integration and Test across multiple operating environments (Linux, Windows, Virtual Machines, Containers).
- Software development experience in Java and C++, and scripting in Linux shells, PowerShell, and Python.
- Experience with on-site customer software installation, systems integration, and leading formal software qualification tests and demonstrations.
- Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Experience with requirements development and requirements management tools, such as DOORS.
- Experience designing system architectures using modeling tools like Cameo, Enterprise Architect, or Rational Suite.
- Familiarity with commonly used systems engineering concepts, practices, and procedures (ISO/IEC/IEEE).

Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills are considered when extending an offer.
