Raytheon is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to perform Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in support of enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support within the Intelligence Community. The ideal candidate will apply MBSE and Digital Engineering practices to define system architecture, manage interfaces, and ensure traceability of requirements to technical solutions. This position requires close collaboration with government stakeholders and other entities. You will contribute to the advancement of products, processes, and operational frameworks while enhancing mission effectiveness and operational resilience. The role is performed in a SCIF environment and provides flexible work hours designed to promote a healthy work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Apply MBSE and Digital Engineering practices across the full system engineering lifecycle.
- Support program and customer Digital Transformation initiatives, including roadmap development and implementation.
- Provide MBSE and systems engineering support to the Systems Integration (SI) team, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary engineering teams to drive digital continuity, configuration management, and model governance.
- Contribute to the development of MBSE best practices, templates, and modeling standards to elevate engineering maturity.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience in MBSE and Cameo (or similar tools like Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, Capella).
- Experience with unified Architecture Framework (UAF) for defense/aerospace environments, Digital Engineering practices, and tool chains to enhance design, integration, and test workflows.
- Experience with systems engineering processes (requirements, architecture, integration, verification & validation).
- An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
Qualifications
- Advance innovation in modeling, simulation, and automation as part of a growing MBSE capability.
- Experience with project management and/or system integration.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor).
- Experience in enterprise-level planning, testing, and implementation.
Pay
The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good-faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
