Principal Systems Engineer - Capital Systems

About the Role

This is a growth-driven addition to a systems engineering team supporting complex medical device capital equipment platforms. The role is heavily focused on systems architecture, requirements engineering, traceability, and technical documentation, with responsibility for driving system-level design decisions and technical alignment across software, electrical, mechanical, and quality teams. This individual will help guide products from development through commercialization while solving complex integration challenges and advancing systems engineering best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Drive system-level design decisions and technical alignment across software, electrical, mechanical, and quality teams
• Develop and manage systems architecture, requirements, decomposition, allocation, and end-to-end traceability
• Lead cross-functional product development efforts involving hardware, software, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams
• Guide products from development through commercialization
• Solve complex integration challenges and advance systems engineering best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
• Medical device product development experience, specifically supporting complex capital equipment systems
• 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience, with consideration given to both Senior and Principal-level candidates
• Strong background in systems architecture, requirements development, decomposition, allocation, and end-to-end traceability
• Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama, Codebeamer, Jira, or similar platforms
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders

Pay

Up to $170,000 base salary + 15% annual bonus
