Principal Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Engineer and Program Manager in all aspects of product area execution and customer interface.
• Provide technical and programmatic guidance throughout the entire lifecycle to a multi-domain development team, including proactively driving resolutions of issues encountered.
• Provide program support throughout the development life cycle, from concept development, requirements definition, functional analysis, design review support, system implementation, integration, verification, and validation.
• Embrace modern development processes and techniques that improve product quality & team productivity.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Minimum 12 years of related engineering experience in systems, software, or hardware engineering.
• Experience providing leadership, technical direction, and guidance to multi-discipline teams.
• Ability to take ownership of the engineering scope within the program and drive the necessary tasks to ultimately ensure the cross-function team meets the technical requirements.
• Experience leading the development, integration and test of military avionics systems or similarly complex systems.
• Experience leading requirements development, hardware and software integration, and requirements verification.
• Experience with development, integration, and test of complex systems onto air, sea, and/or ground platforms.
• Experience with design, integration, and certification of embedded hardware and software subsystems, transitioning products from development to production, and obsolescence management.
• Experience developing technical baselines (requirements/architecture); leading development teams; and developing and reviewing Engineering Change Requests.
• Experience leading technical Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and/or Trade Studies, performing Risk and Opportunity analyses, and tracking and mitigating risks.
• Strong communication skills and ability to effectively communicate to internal and external stakeholders including leading both internal and customer design reviews.
• Experience creating Trade Studies and analyzing technical data.
• Project management experience including cost, schedule, supplier management, risk, and opportunity assessment.
• In-depth understanding of the System Engineering Lifecycle and processes.
• Experience mentoring engineers of all grade levels.
• Must have a valid U.S. Passport. Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
