About the role
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal (Level 3) Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist for their Division, Weapon Systems within the Defense Systems Sector. This role will be 100% remote.
Responsibilities
- Develop subcontract specifications, work statements, and terms and conditions for the procurement of services, specialized materials, and/or equipment
- Prepare bid packages, conduct bidders conferences, analyze and evaluate proposals, perform price/cost analysis, negotiate subcontract provisions, select or recommend subcontractors, write awards, and administer resulting subcontracts
- Ensure appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organizations so that proper receipt is recorded
- Negotiate and coordinate additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts
- Coordinate and collaborate with key stakeholders such as contracts, engineering, quality, supplier development, planning, operations, program and end-users
- In conjunction with quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
- Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through strategic and targeted negotiations
- Manage performance of subcontracts, ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations
- Utilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement
- Manage and develop strategic/key suppliers
- Review and approve supplier payments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree & 5 years of related experience, OR a Master’s degree & 3 years of related experience
- Will consider a High School Diploma & 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience in Subcontracts, Purchasing, Contracts, Finance, or Project Management
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with SAP or related business application software
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARS
- Ability to collaborate with program management and other multi-functional teams
- Ability to multi-task and make sound decisions in a timely manner
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret clearance (US Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications
- Past experience performing successfully in a buying, supply chain planning, or supply chain program management role
- Knowledge of U.S. government and industry supply chain practices
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Practices for International procurements under U.S. Government contracts
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Previous Control Account Manager (CAM) experience or training
- Demonstrated experience with compliance and problem-solving
- Masters degree and 6+ years of supply chain, contracts, business management or related experience
- Negotiating skills with contracts in excess of $10 million
- Risk mitigation experience
- Change Management experience
Pay
Basic Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00
