Principal Supply Chain Manager (AI Sourcing)
About the role
Nscale is scaling fast — and the AI infrastructure that powers our global compute platform needs to arrive on time, every time. We're looking for a Principal Supply Chain Manager to own procurement execution and operational delivery across all AI infrastructure hardware categories — GPUs, servers, networking, and IT equipment — as we expand our datacenter footprint worldwide.
You'll be the connective tissue between vendor commitments and on-the-ground delivery. That means driving operational reliability across every AI infrastructure build, unifying planning processes across sites, and ensuring our procurement engine runs with the discipline and pace this environment demands. This role is scoped to the AI infrastructure layer — the compute, networking, and IT equipment stack that makes AI workloads run — not civil infrastructure like power systems, cooling, or physical buildings.
What You'll Do
- Audit current procurement workflows and map supplier relationships across GPU vendors, server OEMs, and IT equipment partners.
- Identify delivery risks in lead times, contract terms, and gaps between orders and needs.
- Build cross-functional relationships with infrastructure, finance, and commercial teams.
- Establish operational baselines for everything else to build on.
- Take ownership of the full procurement execution cycle for AI infrastructure hardware, including managing vendor relationships, purchase order workflows, inbound logistics, and delivery scheduling.
- Coordinate with sites to standardize planning and procurement processes, ensuring consistency in forecasting demand, issuing POs, and managing delivery milestones.
- Expand scope into IT equipment categories, designing reporting cadences and dashboards for real-time visibility into AI infrastructure hardware availability, delivery status, and procurement risk.
- Shape the supply chain function as Nscale grows, becoming a key voice in capital strategy discussions.
Who You Are
- 10–12 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement operations, or hardware sourcing.
- Background in datacenter, cloud infrastructure, or hyperscale environments.
- Direct experience managing GPU-based hardware procurement or large-scale server and networking deployments.
- Proven track record managing OEM and hardware vendor relationships end-to-end.
- Strong command of inbound logistics coordination, including import/export requirements, freight planning, and milestone tracking.
- Experience standardizing procurement processes across multiple sites or geographies.
- Comfortable expanding scope into IT equipment categories, including networking hardware, end-user compute, and enterprise peripherals.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, able to build procurement tracking and scenario models from scratch.
- Familiarity with supply chain or procurement systems like SAP, NetSuite, or Coupa.
- Exposure to BI tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI for operational reporting.
- A clear, confident communicator who can translate delivery risk into plain-language executive updates and drive action across functions.
What we can offer you
- A highly competitive US compensation package (base + bonus + equity), with performance reviews every 12 months.
- Dynamic progression plan tailored to your ambitions, including leading critical cross-functional initiatives and shaping capital strategy.
- Human-First Flexibility: We treat you as humans first.
- Equal Opportunities Statement: We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
Salary Range
- $125,000 - $200,000 USD
