Siemens Digital Industries Software · St Louis, MO · 1 wk ago
Hybrid$148k/yrFull-time

We are a leading global software company dedicated to computer-aided design, 3D modeling, and simulation—helping innovative manufacturers design better products, faster. With the resources of a large company and the energy of a software start-up, we foster a culture that encourages creativity, welcomes fresh thinking, and focuses on growth.

About the role

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking an experienced corporate development professional to shape our inorganic growth strategy. This senior individual contributor role leads the front end of M&A, where deals are decided. You will develop investment theses, source and screen targets, build the deal pipeline, and carry priority opportunities from first idea through an approved offer—crafting the strategic rationale, valuation perspective, and case for leadership’s commitment.

You will work directly with business leaders, strategy teams, and M&A colleagues across Siemens, delivering recommendations that influence executive capital allocation decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Shape where and how Siemens pursues inorganic growth through acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships, bringing a point of view, not just analysis.
  • Build market perspectives, competitive landscapes, and investment theses that senior leaders use to make capital allocation decisions.
  • Source, screen, and evaluate M&A targets and investment opportunities for strategic fit, market dynamics, and long-term value creation.
  • Pressure-test how AI changes the calculus for the markets and companies evaluated: which moats hold, which business models are exposed, and where value is migrating.
  • Lead priority opportunities through offer development, working cross-functionally to build the strategic rationale, valuation perspective, and proposal that earns leadership’s commitment.
  • Turn analysis into clear, practical recommendations that senior executives can act on.

Requirements

  • Typically, 5+ years of proven experience evaluating markets, technologies, and companies and turning analysis into action. Experience may come from corporate development, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or scaling a product or operating inside a high-growth software business.
  • A sharp analytical toolkit: market analysis, modeling, competitive assessment, and strategic rationale development, synthesized into actionable insights.
  • Equal comfort crafting strategy and implementing it. The role requires both developing investment theses and building the case to move live opportunities to an approved offer.
  • Real fluency in AI and data, with a working understanding of how it reshapes product development, driven moats, and software economics, and a feel for what today’s tools can and can’t do.
  • The ability to quickly get smart on unfamiliar markets, form a view, defend it, and update it based on evidence.
  • Strong judgment, genuine curiosity, and clear, persuasive communication at the executive level.
  • Direct experience in enterprise software, SaaS, industrial software, or related segments is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. An MBA or other advanced degree is welcome but not required.

Who Thrives in This Role

Someone equally at home developing strategy, evaluating companies in depth, and building the case to move an opportunity from first idea to an approved offer. If this combination of strategy and execution describes your strengths, this role could be ideal for you.

Benefits

  • Flexibility to choose between working from home and the office.
  • Phenomenal benefits and rewards, as expected from a world leader in industrial software.

Pay

$147,500 – $220,000, with a target bonus of 10–15%.
