About the role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Full-Stack Web Developer to maintain and enhance capabilities in support of DAF CLOUDworks at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Rome, NY. DAF CLOUDworks is a rapidly growing secure cloud program that encompasses 10+ teams spanning areas such as information security, infrastructure development, and cloud migration. You will actively support customers leveraging DAF CLOUDworks, focusing on operations, sustainment, and enhancing offerings to implement new requirements, improve functionality, increase efficiency, or reduce operating costs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using Typescript, React, Node.js, CSS, Lambda, API, NoSQL databases, and Python
  • Follow Agile Development processes and full life-cycle development
  • Interface with multiple, geographically dispersed teams and communicate project statuses and blockers
  • Support 24x7 on-call operations
  • Debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain strong working relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience (Level 3) or 8+ years (Level 4); Master's degree with 3+ years (Level 3) or 6+ years (Level 4); or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Able to obtain IAT Level II certification (e.g., CASP+ or Security+) within 60 days of start date
  • Experience with UI styling frameworks such as ShadCN or Tailwind CSS
  • Understanding of version control systems (Git)
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, testing, and troubleshooting abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent IAT Level II certification
  • Prior development experience with the Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Strong understanding of web security, including WAF, SQL injection and XSS prevention, and authentication/authorization via Zero Trust workflows (IAM, RBAC)
  • Experience with GitLab runners and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with document databases such as DynamoDB
  • Exposure to frameworks such as React, Angular, Java, or JavaScript
  • Experience with SonarQube or other static code analysis tools

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $103,600 – $155,400. Base salary offers consider factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses.

Secondary Level Salary Range: $129,300 – $193,900.
