Principal/Sr. Principal Engineer Systems
About the role
This position is located in Linthicum, MD and involves leading an engineering team in transitioning designs to production for a high-priority program. Key responsibilities include interfacing with various departments, briefing leadership, and managing a fast-paced, diverse work environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead an engineering team in transitioning designs to production
- Interface with personnel in factor test cells, Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance
- Brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress
- Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations
- Collaborate in collaborative/team settings
Requirements
- Active Secret government clearance
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or STEM-related degree, with 5 years of industry experience, or Masters degree and 3 years of industry experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with REX, Processor, or general RF Integration and test; experience with the BWI factory and/or factory test cell(s)

Skills
- Hardware design and/or test equipment design
- Leadership experience in areas such as project planning, cost & schedule management, manufacturing support, vendor support, design team lead, or similar
- Experience with REX, Processor, or general RF Integration and test for hardware
- Experience reporting project status to program, functional management, and customers
- Experience working with Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing
- Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process
- Experience with LRU/LRM Integration and testing for an EMD product transitioning to production
- Fluency with developing and executing project schedules
- Experience managing products in the critical path of a program
- PMP certification a plus
- Active and current Top Secret government clearance
Benefits
The position offers competitive compensation, including a range from $108,800.00 - $163,200.00 for the primary level and $135,800.00 - $203,600.00 for the secondary level. Additional benefits include health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
Pay
The starting salary for this role is contingent upon the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Schedule
The position requires travel up to 10% of the time.
