About the role

The Amazon Leo Hardware Supply Chain team is seeking a Principal Sourcing TPM to drive technical manufacturing and supply chain operations for hardware assemblies destined for our satellites. The successful candidate will manage contract manufacturers' end-to-end production processes while maintaining focus on quality and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support management of contract manufacturers' end-to-end production process for assigned hardware assemblies
  • Ensure on-time delivery to meet Amazon Leo's production rate requirements
  • Drive production planning and execution aligned with cross-functional priorities
  • Measure, control, and improve capacity, quality, manufacturing rate/processes, and delivery KPIs at contract manufacturers
  • Lead technical deep dives to resolve manufacturing blockers and constraints
  • Balance development and engineering needs to minimize production impacts
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate supply chain risks
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and reporting systems
  • Report status to senior leadership in a clear and succinct manner
  • Develop and implement best practices within the team while ingesting and replicating best practices from other teams
  • Guide, coach, and develop other members of the supply chain management team
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% as required

Requirements

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company
  • Deep technical understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and quality requirements for space-grade hardware
  • Experience driving continuous improvement activities, and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Correction of Errors (COE)
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and provide path-to-green options
  • Experience driving supplier development programs and manufacturing technology transfers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma
  • Direct experience managing high-complexity contract manufacturers, preferably in aerospace or defense industries
  • Demonstrated success in implementing advanced manufacturing processes and quality systems in regulated industries
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification with demonstrated application in manufacturing optimization
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE)
  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field

Pay

USA, WA, Bellevue - $177,000.00 - $239,400.00 USD annually
