Salary Range: $145,800.00 - $243,000.00 This pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training. Principal Solution Consultant – PI System & Operational Transformation We are looking for a senior, customer-facing Principal Solution Consultant to help customers expand their vision beyond a single solution and connect industrial data to broader operational transformation outcomes. This role is ideal for a highly credible presales leader who understands how industrial organizations operate, can engage executives and operational stakeholders alike, and can use PI System as the entry point to uncover broader transformation opportunities across AVEVA’s operations portfolio and CONNECT. This is not a pure technical demo role. It is a strategic, consultative position focused on shaping customer vision, improving discovery quality, influencing account strategy, and helping create and advance high-value opportunities in both existing accounts and new logos. The successful candidate will bring strong business acumen, executive presence, and the ability to translate operational challenges into business value and solution strategy. What You’ll Do Partner with sales teams to shape account strategy and identify expansion opportunities in strategic accountsUse PI System as a foundation for consultative conversations that uncover broader operational and digital transformation needsLead early- to mid-stage customer engagements, including discovery, solution visioning, conversations with business leaders, and value-based positioningProactively identify whitespace for AVEVA’s operations portfolio and CONNECT within both existing customers and new logo pursuitsHelp customers connect operational pain points and business priorities to meaningful transformation initiativesBuild compelling solution narratives that resonate with operations leaders, digital transformation leaders, and executive stakeholdersDevelop business value and ROI-focused messaging to support strategic opportunitiesInfluence account plans and growth motions in partnership with sellers and presales leadershipSupport complex, multi-solution opportunities by framing the right vision before handing off to deeper technical specialists as neededPresent a credible point of view on how industrial organizations can improve performance through better use of operational data, connected systems, and transformation initiativesMentor other solution consultants and provide leadership on consultative selling, account strategy, and customer engagement approachesLead from a solution strategy perspective across account teams, helping elevate conversations beyond single-product positioning Who You Are You are a strategic presales leader with the credibility to engage customers in real operational conversations and the commercial mindset to help shape growth opportunities. You know how industrial organizations make decisions, how improvement initiatives gain traction, and how to connect technical possibilities to measurable business outcomes. You are comfortable speaking with operations leaders, digital transformation leaders, and VP- or C-level stakeholders. You ask strong discovery questions, build trust quickly, and know how to move a conversation from a current-state problem to a broader strategic vision. You are not limited to product-level discussions. Instead, you understand how to use a proven foundation like PI System to open the door to larger transformation conversations across operations, industrial data, and connected solutions. Required Qualifications 15+ years of relevant experience in presales, solution consulting, industry consulting, operational technology, industrial software, or related customer-facing rolesStrong business leader-facing communication and presentation skillsDemonstrated ability to lead consultative customer conversations and shape solution direction in complex sales environmentsExperience building business value, outcome-based messaging, and ROI-oriented narrativesAbility to influence account strategy and partner effectively with sellers on strategic opportunitiesWillingness and ability to travel up to approximately 33% across the Americas Preferred Qualifications Experience as an end user, operator, practitioner, or industry professional in a real operational environmentBackground in engineering or a related technical disciplineExperience with PI System or other industrial historian / industrial data platformsExperience selling or positioning multi-solution offerings rather than a single productExperience in one or more of AVEVA’s core industries, including energy, chemicals, mining, power, infrastructure, life sciences, marine, or consumer productsExperience driving change, improvement initiatives, or digital transformation within industrial organizationsFamiliarity with operational excellence, reliability, maintenance, process engineering, OT/IT collaboration, or performance improvement use cases What Success Looks Like Expands customer conversations beyond a single solution into broader AVEVA operations and CONNECT opportunitiesImproves the quality of discovery and solution positioning in strategic pursuitsHelps create and advance pipeline through proactive identification of whitespace and transformation opportunitiesIncreases credibility with customer stakeholders by bringing relevant operational context and strategic insightStrengthens account teams by mentoring other solution consultants and influencing growth strategyContributes to commercial success through strategic opportunity shaping and measurable CACV impact Why This Role Matters This role plays an important part in helping customers move from isolated use cases to broader transformation strategies.
