Principal Software Integration Engineer

SAIC is seeking an experienced Principal Software Integration Engineer to join our Technical Engineering and Design Department in support of our United States Air Force customer at Camp Smith, Hawaii. This onsite role focuses on ensuring the maximum availability, stability, and health of critical systems, including Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) capabilities such as the JFN and JMIE systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maximum availability, stability, and health of program resources, including JFN MLS operational architecture (nodes, hub, network, software baseline, and CI/CD apparatus from IL-5 to IL-7 Cloud).
• Develop and maintain automated reporting mechanisms using commercial or customer dashboards to report overall system health and status.
• Provide software sustainment through configuration management controls and processes.
• Establish and improve engineering processes and tools for system status monitoring using Platform/Applications/Data monitoring tools.
• Contribute to designing and developing automation for daily verification and validation of key functional capabilities.
• Support automation of configuration management and visibility into CM status across various environments.
• Implement and promote systems engineering principles to ensure program success.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings for stakeholders.
• Stay updated with trends and advancements in automated testing, distributed databases, software-defined networking, container orchestration, and DevSecOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and nine (9) or more years of experience; Master’s degree and seven (7) or more years of experience; or PhD/JD and four (4) or more years of experience.
• Experience with automation tools and techniques, including configuration management and system validation.
• Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Linux KVM).
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab Runners).
• Experience with Kubernetes distros (RKE2, EKS, K8s, etc.).
• Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Knowledge of application integration testing and automated testing frameworks.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with application providers.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with modern IT frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Agile, ITIL).
• Understanding of business and technical alignment to achieve organizational goals.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance.
• IAT Level II certification.

Pay

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000.
