Principal Software Engineering (Global Infrastructure)-North America Software Center

About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Global Infrastructure Software Engineer to help define the architecture, technical vision, and long-term roadmap for TSMC's enterprise infrastructure platform. Working closely with engineering teams in North America and Taiwan, you will architect highly available, scalable, and automated infrastructure platforms that power thousands of applications and mission-critical manufacturing services.

Responsibilities

• Build Cloud-Native Platforms for: Private cloud, Hybrid cloud, Multi-cloud infrastructure, Compute platforms, Storage platforms, Infrastructure services, Multi-Region Infrastructure.
• Design Resilient Global Infrastructure Supporting Worldwide deployments, Disaster recovery, Cross-region replication, Global service discovery, Global traffic management, Capacity planning, Infrastructure resilience, Platform Engineering.
• Lead Development Of Self-service Engineering Platforms Including Environment provisioning, Self-service infrastructure, Golden platform templates, Site Reliability Engineering.
• Drive Engineering Excellence In Reliability engineering, Capacity management, Incident prevention, Performance optimization, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Production readiness, Operational excellence, Technical Leadership.
• Partner with AI, Data, Network & Security, and Application teams to ensure platform consistency and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across North America and Taiwan to establish common platform capabilities.

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience.
• 3+ years leading architecture for cloud-native platforms or distributed infrastructure.
• 1+ years’ experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Distinguished Engineer, or Technical Lead.
• Strong technical communication skills for collaborating with global cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing infrastructure supporting: Thousands of engineers, Global engineering organizations, Multi-region deployments, AI platforms, Data platforms, Manufacturing systems, Hybrid cloud, Mission-critical enterprise environments.
