Principal Software Engineer - VolP

This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve the audio and video communication infrastructure
• Design and operate SIP routing platforms for real-time communications
• Scale and optimize media servers and signaling environments
• Build low-latency call routing solutions for seamless communication
• Partner with teams to integrate voice and video into applications
• Investigate and resolve real-time communication challenges
• Drive technical strategy and establish best practices for infrastructure
• Mentor engineers and serve as a telecom subject matter expert

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing real-time voice and video systems
• Deep expertise with SIP and telecommunications protocols
• Strong experience with VoIP platforms in production
• Production-level knowledge of Kamailio or FreeSWITCH
• Experience with backend services using .NET or Node.js/TypeScript
• Ability to troubleshoot complex network and media delivery issues

Pay

$120,000 – $165,000 annually
