Principal Software Engineer (REF# AT0630)

Full-time position based at Convera’s Denver HQ (7979 E Tufts Ave., Suite 200, Denver CO 80237) with 100 % remote work permitted from anywhere in the U.S.

About the role

Lead the design and development of software architecture and enterprise systems, including highly scalable, distributed systems and responsive UI interfaces. Drive the technical product roadmap, collaborate across the product lifecycle, and ensure secure, high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, distributed systems and responsive UI using Angular, React, and TypeScript.
• Lead technical implementation, documentation, and proof-of-concept development.
• Collaborate with Product Management to define and execute the technical product roadmap.
• Design and develop event-driven systems using message brokers such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Perform threat modeling and secure coding practices using tools like Fortify, Checkmarx, Blackduck, or Qualys.
• Maintain and enhance existing web applications, including SQL performance tuning.
• Provide production support and maintenance across releases.
• Implement test-driven development, CI/CD, and automated unit testing with NUnit.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Application, or a related field.
• 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Microservices, APIs, C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core.
• Experience designing and developing event-driven systems using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Cloud-based software development skills using AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with threat modeling tools (Fortify, Checkmarx, Blackduck, Qualys).
• Experience with test-driven development, CI/CD, and automated unit testing (NUnit).

Pay

$197,000 – $207,000 per year.
