Principal Software Engineer, Developer Compute Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Developer Compute Platform to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will shape the architecture and evolution of a developer compute and virtual desktop platform that supports secure, high-performance AI workflows across complex cloud environments. You will drive strategy from design through deployment, partnering closely with engineering, IT, and security stakeholders to define the roadmap and deliver scalable infrastructure that improves developer productivity and platform reliability. The position calls for deep technical leadership in cloud compute, desktop streaming, and end-user computing, with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and cross-functional influence. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $248,000+ annually Responsibilities Lead the architecture of the company's AI agent compute and virtual desktop platforms from strategy to deployment Develop distributed compute services for secure, isolated environments across multiple clouds and regions Drive the desktop streaming strategy, focusing on protocol architecture and performance tuning Collaborate with engineering, IT, and security leaders to create a multi-year platform roadmap based on AI workflows and user needs Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience 15+ years in software, platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering, with a focus on global cloud compute infrastructure Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure services such as EC2, VPC, Azure VMs, and Entra ID Expertise in desktop streaming protocols such as Amazon DCV, PCoIP, or Omnissa Blast Extreme Experience with end-user computing solutions such as Amazon WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Citrix Familiarity with AI-native development and coding agents for enhanced developer efficiency Strong communication skills with a proven ability to influence technical direction Benefits Equity opportunities Comprehensive benefits package Collaborative and high-trust work culture Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
