About the role

Amazon Redshift is seeking experienced professionals with a strong background in building database management systems (DBMS). The ideal candidate should demonstrate independent research skills and a passion for software and system development.

Utility Computing (UC)

AWS Utility Computing (UC) focuses on innovative products such as Amazon S3 and EC2, and continuously introduces new features that distinguish AWS services in the market. Members of the UC team support the development and management of various AWS services including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps, with a focus on providing specialized security solutions for customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the design, implementation, and verification of components using standard software engineering methodologies
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
  • Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards
  • Work with other teams to deliver and operate large-scale, distributed services in the cloud
  • Contribute to overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Mentor other engineers, define the technical culture, and help build a growing team

About the team

Amazon Redshift is a highly scalable, fully managed data warehouse service designed to significantly enhance query performance for businesses of all sizes. Key areas of focus include Autonomics, Performance, Storage, Transaction Processing, and High Availability.

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Previous work experience with AWS services

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of work experience
  • Masters Degree in Engineering
