Principal Software Engineer

About the role

The Principal Backend Engineer on the Admin Workflows team will focus on building the systems that transform admin ideas and raw materials into engaging, AI-first training. This includes content integrations, agent frameworks, and content creation workflows. Additionally, you will contribute to the storytelling of the impact of Yoodli through AI-powered analysis and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Own the systems that turn admin ideas and raw materials into engaging, AI-first training
• Build the content integrations that ingest source material from existing customer systems
• Powers the roleplays using the agent framework
• Create content creation workflows at the heart of the admin experience
• Help tell the story of the impact of Yoodli through AI-powered analysis and analytics

• Backend expertise: Deep experience in architecting and operating scalable, reliable backend services
• Comfort with ambiguity: Ability to handle complex, open-ended product problems and challenging architectures

• Craft and quality: High standards for code quality and system design, and mentorship of engineers

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional development experience shipping and operating production systems
• Deep backend expertise - experience architecting and owning services end-to-end and setting technical direction in fast-moving environments
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Proficiency in TypeScript or Python, with the ability to debug complex distributed systems
• Clear communicator who effectively leads collaborations across engineering and product, and who gives and receives feedback well
• Understanding of how work connects to business outcomes and user impact

Skills

• Experience with LLMs, generative AI, and AI-powered applications
• Experience with speech/audio processing technologies
• Experience with NoSQL databases and Kubernetes
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform
