Principal Software Engineer

The Role

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient, scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and Python, optimizing for performance and cost.
  • Leverage Snowflake's advanced features, including AI/ML capabilities, to enhance data workflows, automation, and analytical solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Develop and maintain robust SQL procedures, ensuring data integrity and alignment with business logic.
  • Participate in solution design discussions, contributing technical insights and best practices.
  • Support testing, deployment, and production maintenance of data workflows and automation scripts.
  • Apply software development methodologies appropriate to project needs, including Agile practices.
  • Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalate appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Deep expertise in Snowflake or alternative Big Data technologies, including architecture, performance tuning, and advanced features
  • Strong Python programming skills for data engineering, automation, and integration; Java experience preferred
  • Experience designing and building scalable ELT/data pipelines, orchestration workflows, and data products
  • Advanced SQL skills, including stored procedures, query optimization, data modeling, and transformation frameworks
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub/Bitbucket), Git-based development workflows, and Agile delivery practices
  • Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud-native services and integrating Snowflake within cloud data architectures
  • Understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and operational controls in cloud data platforms
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and collaborate across teams
  • Passion for learning and adopting emerging technologies, particularly within the Snowflake and cloud data ecosystem

Schedule

We offer a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).
