About the role
The Principal Software Engineer supports engineering tools in multi-sector enterprise environments (unclassified and classified). The role deploys, supports, customizes, and maintains the suite of Commercial and Open-Source applications used by Software and Systems Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Configure, deploy, and administer commercial and open-source SW Factory software.
- Develop code to aid in administration of the SW Factory.
- Provide end user support to SW Factory suite of applications.
- Monitor, address, and resolve production SW Factory application incidents, reports.
- Interface, collaborate, with the other development and administration teams inside of Corporate.
- Maintain strong expertise and knowledge of current and emerging technologies and products.
Requirements
- 5 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD.
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (or higher).
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment.
- Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to work well in a virtual team environment, with team members located throughout the country.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and juggle more than one task at a time.
- Self-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Server/Client Software installation experience.
- Understanding of core IT competencies (Networking, Servers, DBs, Apps).
- Experience programming in scripting languages (Particularly Python).
- Experience in deploying applications via Kubernetes.
Qualifications
- Strong technical (administrative is preferred) foundation in several of the following technologies: Jenkins, Docker, GitHub, Gitlab, Key Cloak, SonarQube, Nexus Repository Lifecycle, Grafana, Atlassian (Crowd, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye and Crucible).
- Administration experience with Postgres.
- Development experience with ServiceNow.
- Candidates have a current U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (or higher).
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- AWS console administration experience.
