About the role

NetApp is uniquely positioned in the industry, partnering with major hyper scalers (AWS, GCP, and Azure) to drive innovation in Cloud Fundamentals. The Cloud Storage team is embarking on a new charter to simplify customer operations and differentiate through cloud-native applications.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the architecture and technical direction for complex cloud-native services, making meaningful code contributions.
  • Ensure solutions meet performance, scale, reliability, and enterprise-readiness requirements through validation and qualification.
  • Ideate and solve complex customer problems, contributing to intellectual property.
  • Coach and mentor engineers across the team, guiding them through design, code reviews, and pairing.
  • Work closely with team members and leadership to ensure the overall team objectives are met as ONE team.

Requirements

  • 12-15+ years of industry experience in software development.
  • 8+ years of experience in data management/migration systems & storage platforms for managing and storing data across various workloads and environments.
  • 7+ years of expert-level hands-on experience in fault-tolerant, highly scalable cloud architectures including service-oriented architectures, cloud-native (FAAS, PAAS), and cloud storage services with at least one hyper scaler (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Proficiency with Filesystems, or file/cloud storage protocols. Experience in NFS/SMB/iSCSI protocols.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Golang, Node.js, Python.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, CI build systems, and automated testing.
  • Proactive and self-driven, with strong technical judgment and influential skills.
  • Expertise to provide both architectural guidance and detailed technical direction.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, stakeholders, and the engineering community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in technical area of study: engineering disciplines.
  • Master's degree in technical field such as engineering, software development, preferred with less additional experience stated above.
  • IC - Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related experience.
  • Mgr & Exec - Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and architectures.
  • Experience with cloud storage services and hyper scalers.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay

The target salary range for this position is $220,000-372,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range.

Schedule

This role offers a hybrid working environment, with some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations, which will be shared during the recruitment process.
