Responsibilities
- Drive architectural strategy and technical direction across backend services and modern front-end applications.
- Design and build scalable APIs, integrations, and distributed systems that support increasing data volume and complexity.
- Lead the modernization of legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native full-stack solutions.
- Guide the evolution of our front-end architecture, including Vue.js, TypeScript, accessibility standards, and design systems.
- Partner with Product and business stakeholders to improve data models and enable data-driven decision making.
- Facilitate architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Champion engineering excellence through best practices in testing, observability, security, performance, and developer experience.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Codex.
- Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate new technical approaches.
- Mentor engineers across the organization and help elevate technical leadership, design thinking, and architectural capabilities.
- Influence long-term platform strategy and contribute to the Product Development roadmap.
- Participate in the engineering on-call rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, data engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive experience designing and delivering scalable, distributed systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C#, .NET, Java, or similar.
- Strong full-stack development experience, including modern front-end frameworks and backend services.
- Advanced-to-expert knowledge of modern front-end development, including Vue.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Deep understanding of front-end architecture and component design.
- Experience building cloud-native applications, preferably in AWS.
- Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with distributed data and event-driven technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Presto, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to design scalable API contracts and integrations across front-end and backend systems.
- Strong understanding of software testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability platforms, and modern engineering practices.
- Demonstrated success leading architectural initiatives and producing technical design documentation.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, analytical, and decision-making skills.
