The Role

Index Engines is seeking a Principal Level ML Software Engineer to join our team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting ML, infrastructure, and software for our Linux applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with business units to understand and implement ML solutions that meet strategic customer needs.

What You'll Do

• Work as a member of a Scrum team to design and develop models, infrastructure, and software components ensuring system compliance with requirements.
• Implement and unit test software modules.
• Integrate and test software modules with other team members.
• Provide estimates for assigned tasks during release/sprint planning.
• Work with Quality Assurance to review test plans and support QA activities.
• Collaborate with support to analyze and resolve customer impacting issues.
• Work with Product Management to review requirements for new/proposed features.
• Provide technical leadership within assigned areas of responsibility, managing medium-large teams/features.

What You Bring

• Deep understanding of classic ML and deep learning principles.
• Experience implementing and maintaining ML-based solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and data science tools.
• Strong background in data structures and algorithms, capable of scaling large datasets.
• Experience with Agile Development methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• A passion for problem-solving in a collaborative environment.
• Minimal supervision needed and ability to work in a matrixed organization.
• A desire to learn new technologies.
• PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with Machine Learning.
