About the role

Base-2 Solutions is looking for a top-notch software engineer to join our team. We solve challenging customer problems by leveraging innovative technical solutions. Our software engineers develop next-generation technologies that drive decision making and impact national defense. We need versatile engineers who bring fresh ideas from areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and UI design. Engineers display leadership qualities and tackle new problems as we push technology forward.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Work individually or as part of a team.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports.
• Utilize software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
• Provide specific input to software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Requirements

• Twenty (20) years of experience as a software engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university (four years of additional software engineering experience may substitute for the degree).
• Active Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph clearance.
