Principal Software Engineer (AHT)

About the role

The successful candidates will demonstrate a broad skill set balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities achieving sustainable quality products. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidates will participate in the entire software development lifecycle with a concentration in software engineering. The candidates will work closely with other software developers accomplishing the following: complete work independently and as a part of an Agile team, support team in completing necessary software on schedule, solve complex problems through innovative and creative solutions, collaborate with software designers and/or software engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software systems, regularly demonstrate progress to customers.

Requirements

• One of the following:
• A high school diploma with a minimum of 9 years of software development experience
• A bachelor's in science degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of software development experience
• A master's in science degree in a STEM field with 3 years of software development experience

Qualifications

• Current U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Security Clearance
• Experience as a Full Stack Software Developer
• Demonstrated experience in Object Oriented programming in Java
• Experience with Typescript, specifically, development in Angular 21+
• Experience with Oracle tools: SQL Developer and WebLogic 14+
• Proven experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL 8)
• Working knowledge of the Agile development processes
• Familiarity with Test automation practices
• Experience in Testing tools: QFTest, Mockito, JUnit, Jest
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with small technical teams
• Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results
• Ability to obtain/maintain access to work full time on-site in Bellevue, NE

Skills

• Experience using Storybook
• Experience using backend tools: Postman, OpenAPI
• Experience in leading meetings
• Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Deployment (CD) in Jenkins pipelines
• Experience in Cyber Security protocols, STIG, and SonarQube

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Schedule

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
