What You Will Do

  • Perform computer modeling and simulation of Chiller Solutions components and systems.
  • Develop and apply numerical models to simulate components and systems with the objective of predicting component and system performance accurately and efficiently.
  • Develop steady-state and multifaceted simulation models of thermal components and systems based on first principles and test data.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to assess product performance and adjust models as necessary.
  • Provide models that support product design and optimization.
  • Guide personnel in establishing chiller design choices and system trade-offs.
  • Mentor on rating and analysis tool development.
  • Develop innovative ideas to improve product performance and reduce costs.

How You Will Do It

Working with minimal direction, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop and apply computer program models to simulate chiller components and systems.
  • Develop component models and apply those developed by others.
  • Participate as a member of a project team to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to assess product performance and adjust models as necessary.
  • Provide models that support product design and optimization.
  • Guide personnel in establishing chiller design choices and system trade-offs.
  • Mentor on rating and analysis tool development.
  • Develop innovative ideas to improve product performance and reduce costs.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer
  • Programming experience with a compiled software language (C# preferred, C++, C, Fortran)
  • Experience with testing and evaluation of results in an engineering laboratory environment
  • Experience with object-oriented programming (C# preferred, Python, Modelica, object-oriented C++)
  • Preferred: Experience with machine learning

Hiring Salary Range

Hiring salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
