DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and a third day unique to each team or employee).
The Impact You Will Have
The Principal Scrum Master is a servant leader with a growth mindset, responsible for facilitating squad delivery while ensuring proper governance of process. They act as a trusted coach, guiding the squad during ceremonies, removing impediments, and embodying Our Ways of Working. The Scrum Master maintains accuracy in JIRA and governance artifacts, promotes best practices, and mentors the team. As an Associate Director, the Principal Scrum Master leads within the Scrum Master community.
Responsibilities
- Identify and remove impediments from the Squad, following escalation paths as needed
- Interact with CoE’s on status, issues, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement
- Liaise with Product Owner and Tribe/Hub Stakeholders to support Tribe activities such as the Quarterly Tribe Review
- Ensure Squad Manager Tool is up to date (Squad Members, OKRs, supporting documentation)
- Plan and chair key meetings, facilitate Sprint 0, SoS, and distribute minutes for tracking; follow up as required
- Create and maintain projects in JIRA, ensuring traceability, accuracy, and health via metrics and dashboards; enforce JIRA rules
- Train users and oversee JIRA backlog and planning sessions (PO owns backlog); define “Issue Type and Association” in JIRA
- Create and update projects in PPM, monitor staffing profiles, time tracking, budgeting, and forecast vs. actuals
- Manage release planning in accordance with Change Management policy
- Act as a change agent, guiding the squad on agile best practices and alignment with Our Ways of Working (OWoW), consulting with agile coaches as needed
- Take a holistic view of the squad’s body of work and proactively address initiatives and epics
- Lead Agile Ceremonies such as Backlog Grooming, Sprint Retro, Sprint Review/Demo, and Sprint Planning
- As an Associate Director, lead within the community of Scrum Masters
- Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with SDP and pass DPA audit requirements
- Mitigate risk by following established procedures, monitoring controls, spotting errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Skills
- Working knowledge of agile methodology
- Understanding of the end-to-end Institutional post-trade Derivatives lifecycle highly desirable
- Experience with business/application messaging systems and protocols (e.g., SQL, MQ, SFTP, MS Azure, XLST) an advantage
