Principal Scientist, Research (Targeted Delivery)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implement innovative immunization strategies, including the identification, selection, and management of external immunization vendors (CROs).
- Establish and oversee high-throughput B cell screening and selection workflows.
- Develop and integrate a robust Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflow for the rapid identification and analysis of antibody variable region sequences from screening campaigns.
- Drive the design, execution, and automation of high-throughput screening cascades to characterize antibody properties such as affinity, specificity, and function.
- Engineer complex antibody modalities, including Mult specific antibodies, nanobodies, and evaluate novel protein formats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including protein science, pharmacology, and translational science to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and data analysis, and present findings to internal teams and senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 years of post-PhD experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with a primary focus on antibody discovery and engineering.
- Proven track record of successfully leading antibody discovery programs from inception to lead candidate delivery.
- Hands-on experience with single B cell isolation and screening technologies is required; direct experience with the Bruker Beacon platform is required.
- Deep expertise in molecular biology techniques for antibody cloning, expression, and sequence analysis, including extensive experience with NGS library preparation and data interpretation.
- Experience with managing external research collaborations and CROs for immunization and discovery campaigns.
- Track record of successfully managing and developing research scientists preferred.
Pay Range
$147,200.00 - $220,800.00
The pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
